Tank is roughly 3 months old or so. I have battled cyano in the past and dinoflagellates and diatoms... but am having a hard time figuring this one out.
I do have some dinos because I get the snotty bubble/brown stringy stuff during the daytime prominence.... just curious what this red/purple stuff is on the glass - it could also be a dark brown. If it helps at all.. part of my GFO got blown into the main display and covered everything on accident a couple weeks ago.
This honestly looks like the normal green algae you wipe off the glass except it's dark in color.. it's not a mat-covering.
Also on a related note - I understand it's detritus and other things - but I've always been curious as to why when we clean the sand/rocks and blow things off with a turkey blaster etc... that the tank becomes covered in little "strings" - please see the video/pics for what I mean.
