How about Derbesia marina on the above link? Where did the rock originate from? The Derbesia marina looks a lot like yours in color, but it appears to be longer in length.

no it isn't that one mine is soild. it isn't grass like. i got all the rock of craigslist. but that rock is the on;y one with that algae on it

Take a look at the link I provided, and check out the Turf alga. Cladophora's, Cladophoropsis, and Valoniopsis. Perhaps one of those. The picture you posted doesnt have alot of detail a better pic might help as well.

Well this is just what I would personally do, since I have no knowledge on algae, just searched for a match to your photo from the source.

What I would personally do, and this would be done at your own risk or whatever, is if it bothers you a big deal, the rock does not look that big I would take it out, scrub the rock clean, then just cure it real good and throw it back in the system May sound a bit dramatic, but the rock does not appear to be a primary support for any other aquascape, and therer doeos not appear to be any coral on it.

So if you want it gone, try that. I would probably ask for a second opinion if I were you, there are some around here that know everything there is to know about macro so ask around a bit more.
