Algae Issue

Have a large ball of green algae growing on just inside the upper teeth of the overflow box. I think its either green wiry or green turf, kind of the texture of a shaving brush. I have tried manual removal several times but it just comes back. I was considering draining the tank a little bit so I could spray with peroxide. Any reasons not too or any other options?

If you are getting that stuff it's a symptom. Your phosphates are high, or its getting direct light. I get that coming from my return hose from my external skimmer.

It's not a big deal. Just remove the algae. Think of it as nutrient export.

Not worried about nutrients. Have a larger refugium which takes care of that. Probably some of it in there. Theres not really any nuisance algae yet in the DT. Just see its starting to creep its way back through the overflow teeth.
