Algae Question

Picked up a peice of fake coral from a friend of mine but there was red hair algea on it, i boiled it for like 10 minutes, and took it out , there is still some algea on it, is it dead and ok to put in my tank or shoudl i do somehting esle

It's dead. You killed it. bacteria is about the only thing that can survive boiling water for 10 minutes. The dead algae will fall off in time. Scrub it off if you want it off sooner.

when ur friends come over u can say look at the polyp extension on that coral... lolz
