Algae Scrubber not working?

I am currently running a SantaMonica Drop 1.2 scrubber in my tank for a month now with no growth inside of it. I am running a Tunze 9004 skimmer along side it as well. My nitrates are <5 and my phosphates are undetectable. Problem is...I have algae all on my rock and glass. It is a fairly new tank, which finished cycling 2 months ago. I put in dry Pukani rock which was previously under lanthanum acid for a month. I have a feeling like it may be my pukani still leeching phosphate, but was under the impression it could be minimized by the algae scrubber. Any advice would be greatly apppreciated.

tank only 4 weeks old probably wont have much nitrate buildup if any at all ... the algea on the rocks is likely consuming what little you may have.

Well it's 8 weeks but my main concern is possible excess phosphates leeching from the rock. Just thought my algae scrubber would be picking this up more, particularly since I'm getting no growth at all in it.

It will not automatically absorb the phosphate out of the rock. The rock is gonna hold onto that phosphate no matter what. It will slowly leach out. When it's depleted, your scrubber will take over given proper environment.

Algae Scrubbers need nutrients to remove to work. If you have low nutrients and your skimmer is removing most the bad stuff then a Algae Scrubber won't do much.
