algae scrubber pix?

fullmonti

now is the time
awhile back I saw a link to a site that had A LOT of pix of different peoples scrubbers.
I should have bookmarked it but I didn't, now I can't find it.
Does any one out there know the site I'm looking for? (I will bookmark it this time)

Plenty,
SantaMonica rediscovered the turf scrubber and has been promoting the virtues.

Easier in many respect to macro algae, particularly if you like lower ppm's and run things leaner(as many seem to want to do). Can handle more abuse than macros, some trade offs involved, but pretty good overall.

Like many things in the hobby, trends come and go and then are rediscovered and promoted by someone. Then the advocates stop posting, writing etc, and folks soon forget, then a new batch comes along and starts the process all over again.

True for many things in the hobby.

I set mine up a few weeks ago and LOVE it! It's not fully matured yet. and you can make it out of stuff that you already have, like an old gravel vac. I used a hirota compact light, ($15) and it gave my husband an excuse to buy a dremmel (he's always wanted one!) We used our canister filter (empty) as the return. I'd like a little more flow, but it's ok for now.

I don't have one (yet). I did just find the site I was looking for.
algaescrubber.net, then Designs, then Misc Scrubber Designs
I think I'm going to do a horizontal (I don't have room for the more common vertical type) type similar to kcress's horizontal ceramic turf scrubber
which is down the page from misc scrubber designs.
If your trying to figure out what design to do, I think this will help.

Plenty of links there for you, and many DIY designs to accommodate and maximize usable space. Peruse through the links here though, there's a ton of various designs. Certainly worth a good long look before deciding what is best suited for you/your goal.
