Algae

Hi, I'm having trouble with all sorts of algae mostly this stuff in the attached picture. I've bought some phosgaurd, which has helped a little. Phosphate is one colour above untraceable, all other levels are where they should be, nitrate is about 5ppm. My tank is about 6 weeks old with 3 shrimps 2 clowns, 1 blue leg hermit crab, 10kg live rock and live sand. Lights are on 8hrs a day. If anybody knows what algae this is and how to get rid of it please help...
It's the lighter short green algae like green hair but short and covers all the rocks. Cheers.

You tank is new and it will go through its fair share of crazy algae blooms. Best way to combat algae is increase of water changes and GFO used 24/7.

When I've had algae issues I did 15-20% water changes every other day till i notched algae going away. During that time I reduced my feeding. I replaced my GFO and within a few days and about 3 water changes everything was back to normal.

Thanks for the reply. So it should just go away with regular water changes. I don't run a skimmer do you think this would help my case?

Thanks I think I'm gonna get a tunze 9001 what are people's thought on this skimmer. It's the only one I can find that will fit in the back of my Aquanano 60.
Yes the neomeris is growing everywhere, I quite like it though.
