I love mine. I have never seen him eat flakes until this morning. In my normal tank he would just munch on the rocks - looks like he is open mouth kissing them, but since he (and everyone else) is in QT, I guess he was hungry enough to try some flakes.
I would say if you have enough algea on your rocks you will be good
you can also feed strips of nori. My bicolor blenny loves them. When I first got him he was not eating much. The Nori kept him interested until he started eating flakes. Now he eats everything.
Before mine tried to fly, I started him on dried seaweed on a lettuce clip. After a few months he ate anything I put in the tank! Good luck! Hopefully you have a tight fitting lid.
