Algea On Zoas

I hav a couple of small frags of zoas. Some of the polyps open but most dont and im pretty sure its from this alge growing with them. Its a green string pretty much. Ive tried pullin it off but it jus grows back. Anyone hav a cure to this problem thanx.

do you have a picture? may be a fungus. you can try to brush it off with a soft toothbrush. if the zoa's covered in the algea dont open they may not recover. i see that more now that i have MH if they stay closed too long the algea start to grow on them. giving them time might allow others to open and you might only lose some.

are the zoa's new?

Cut back on feeding. How long do you have your lights on and wha't the temp of the tank???
