I've had my neon green zoa colony for about a week now, and they all aren't opening up fully. I've recoginized the problem being that there is some green hair algea growing over them.
What is the best way to get this off without harming the polyps?
If the algae is localized in/on one frag/colony, you can remove the colony and use a dedicated set of tweezers to remove the algae and finish off the surface of the rock with a frim toothbrush scraping.
My LFS sold me a product called Tech D, I dipped all my zoa's in it for about 3-4 mins, after placing them back in the system they started to open with 1 hour and so far they are doing grate. Hope this helps some.
