Alk and calcium consumption during a 72h blackout?

I have some dynoflagulates in my system and am doing a 72h black out to hopefully kill them off. I have a good uv steralizer and it's a minor outbreak so should do the trick. My question is, will my sps still consume the same amount of calcium and alkalinity during this period? Or will it be significantly less?

Thanks Bill

Tested tonight at the 48h point and consumption has definitely dropped off. Alk went from 8.2 to 9 and calcium went from 420 to 440.

Yes your alk and ca will be impacted, I simply go offline for dosing, or if using a ca rx you would also go offline during this blackout. Without photosynthesis, alk and ca are not absorbed with the same frequency, so adjustments would need to be made.
