alk got real low, how long to recover?

I just noticed the PE of my corals not being great so I tested the alk for the rest time in about a week and it was 5.9 which is obviously insanely low. Usually I keep my alk between 7-8. I just raised it back to 7.5 and increased my 2 part to make sure it stays at that. I am going to be checking it daily. my calc is fine at 420.

How long do you think it will take the corals to recover, noticing a lot less PE and some of the colors are paling out.

Anything else you guys recommend?

Don't do anything. And don't be surprised if they take a turn for the worse in a week. Hopefully not but that's up to the coral gods. There may be no recovery time or it can takes weeks or months depending on what happens....hopefully nothing.

Good advice! Keep all as stable, within recommended levels and monitor.

Do you see any precipitation?

Do you dose Cal and ALK at the same time?

why do you think it could take a turn for the worse?

do i see any precipitation when I dose alk? I dont personally dose it, i having a dosing pump that does it 12 times throughout the day.

but yes there is precipitation when it does the alk. it dose calc and alk 5 minutes apart, 12 times a day

Because that's how it is lol. It can take days to see a negative reaction to a spike, and more time to see how bad it gets. If corals super healthy you may not see anything. If some are teetering they may crash. I will say alk dips are less harmful than spikes so you may ok. My post was just to give you a heads up that if in a week stuff starts going nuts don't panic;)
