I have been getting pre-mixed water from a LFS which is using Red Sea Coral Pro Salt. My Alk has been around 9-10dkh area. Doing some research today, I noticed that their salt, when mixed to 1.023 will have a dkh of 11-12. I guess I have been dosing alk for no reason. I want to maintain it at around 8dkh.
1. Is there any way to bring it down controllably?
2. What is a better salt that will suit my needs, I am going to start making my own water again.
3. My new setup will have a ca reactor(first time I have had one) What issues will I possibly run into as far as alk with the reactor?
