i have a alkalinity test by red sea and the reading its 2.5 around there its that ok sorry by asking alot question but im new at this hobby and i love this

That alkalinty test is pretty low,i keep mine between 7-8 , go slow bringing it up,use a buffer like reef builder that raises carbonate alkalinity, take your time bringing it up over next couple weeks.keep doing your water changes every week.

also ,when you get your alk where you want it make sure you check it often, large fluxuations in alk affect ph . doing regular water changes should keep ph in check.

The red sea alk test measures in meq/L not dkh. You would be better off getting a alk test kit by API. This way you can get an exact reading versus an approximation based on the color. The 2.5meq/L is 7dkh.

1meq/L= 2.8dkh
