Alkalinity at lower and higher salinity

Just curious if alk levels can be affected by salinity. I.E. Alk lower at high salinty or higher alk with high salinity etc.

If you put less salt mix then you put less of everything in the salt mix including the alkalinity, the calcium, the magnesium, and everything else. So yes, if salinity is low then all the parameters will be low unless you've added something.

Thank you I have been waiting on a refractometer replacement and salinity hasn't been as trusted while using swing type hydrometer.

The effect is not all that large. If you start at sg = 1.024 and 7 dKH and let it evaporate to sg = 1.027, the alkalinity has only risen to 7.8 dKH. :)

Thanks Randy, you make all this sound so easy. You are the stephen hawkings of reef chemistry!
