Alkalinity is too high.

Randy~ Where is a good place to look for a meter or device that reads constant Calc and Alk readings.
Also, I have used the SeaChem Reef Buffer to raise my PH. Is this not a good idea. I see that there is alot of talk about not using buffer's. I am currently using Seachem liquid calcium. What is another way to keep the PH at 8.3 to 8.4?

There is no meter for alkalinity. There is for calcium, but it isn't really constant reading like a pH meter. Here's my review:

Buffers are not a good way to boost pH. More aeration with fresh air or high pH balanced calcium and alkalinity supplements are the way to go. This article has more:
