Alkalinity issue

Yes that is not a very high alk demand. You just need to come up with a way to make dosing easier for you. Do you have an auto top off of any kind?

Kim

Yes, i do i have a JBJ auto top off for topping off with RODI, i have never dosed anything before now, never needed to

cal and mag are fine

since my RODI water resovior is filled every week should i just put the equivalent of 7dkh (1dkh for each day) worth of seachem reef builder (what i am using to boost alk) in there????????????????
:worried:

That will work fine. Just remember you will still need to test and fine tune as time goes on, and evap rates change.

Kim

and if i want to save myself some $$, i should just add baking soda to my top off water instead of the seachem alk builder????

excuse my lack of knowledge in this area but should i be doing the lime/kalkwater thing or is adding baking soda/seachem reef builder to my top off rodi what i wanna do ??

again-very confused

Without knowing how much evap you have, and how large of a tank you have, there is no way of knowing if kalk would keep up with your alk demand. Myself, I love doing Kalk, but in most tanks it will not keep up with the demand.

You can use the Seachem product or baking soda, either will work to keep up your alk up just as well.
