I have a few questions but first:

I saw that I guy bought this and he was happy with it. He liked how it was built.

This is a plant grow light but reading the ad, it looked like they were flexible with the color palate so I asked if they could make custom color blends of all blue. They answered back, saying yes along with a little blah blah blah.

I don't quite understand how they have pricing that ranges from $16 to $35 to $98, buy it now, for what seems to be the same product but if you can get blue flood lamps that are water proof for 16 bucks, they should be great for that deep blue look that I am striving for. Of course I don't think that I would be able to dim them without opening them up and hacking around inside.

I am wondering if two of these 50 Watt LED flood lamps would be the right amount of blue light on a 6 foot by 2 foot by 18 inch 130 Gallon tank? Right now, I have a 250 and a 400 Watt metal halide on the tank. I hope to go with LEDs for the whites but that will be a while.

Obviously, I don't know much about lighting but I want a strong blue look to the tank. Will having bright white light drown out the blue, no matter how much that I have? Will this blue lamp cause a nice shimmer, even though it has a reflector?

I'm I overlooking anything?

This is an updated link to the lamp, just for reference.
I found the pull down bar that changes the price from:

$16.40 for 10 watts
$35.89 for 20 watts
$55.69 for 30 watts
$88.50 for 50 watts

To be clear, I want to keep my metal halides for now and just add two of the 50W lamps to the system. I know that these aren't the very best value around but they are not a DIY and I can install them quickly for a reasonable price....I THINK.
Does anyone have any thoughts?

I read a post not too long ago that somebody had one of these that caught fire.
And NO I'm not getting this confused with the Odyssea brand.
Use the search button, it's on here somewhere .

Belated Update:

I really like that deep blue look for a tank. Yes I like the fluorescing that actinics bring out but I also like the white range over the top of it. At the same time, I don*t want the white to drown out the blue. Since I have a 250 and a 400 watt metal halide, I wanted to have a lot of blue. My T5*s just weren*t getting me there. I also like the shimmer that LED*s give off. To that end, I went ahead and bought 2 of those 50 watt, 420nm flood lamps. They were cheap enough to experiment with.

On arrival, I found that they were very well constructed. As advertised, I installed the power cord to match US wiring. On the bench, the lamps were blindingly bright. Then I put one of them over the tank and plugged it in.

Unfortunately, I felt that it was not very bright in spite of its power rating. I thought that it might be the wave length that I bought, being too narrow of a spectrum.

I ordered a pair of 50 watt, 455nm replacement chipsets to try. I installed one in one of the lamps. I aimed both of them at some white cabinets to see the difference. The 455 looked much brighter. The blue looked better than the violet. I put the 455 back over the tank on the right and then installed the 420 lamp on the left. I didn*t use my metal arcs because I thought that they would confuse the comparison.

After moving rock around to more evenly distribute the light with the dark. I was surprised that both lamps looked pretty bright alongside of each other. Of course some of the light overlapped in the middle. When I looked at the tank I could hardly see much difference between the two lights.

I was cautioned that 100 watts of violet light might burn the corals. On the other hand, I have been told that the corals needs some violet. I have heard the same for blue. I don*t know if any of that is at all true. For all I know 100 watts of blue might cause the same burning, I don*t know. If either is a possibility, having 100 watts of each would be even worse. I clearly need some help to get some ,,,well, clarity on this subject.

Now the whole reason for all of this was so that my tank looks good to me. The health of the corals was less of a consideration when I started this quest.

So far, here is the bottom line. As I kept looking at the tank, I started to like the blue better than the violet. Does anyone have any feedback on any part of this?

This is with the LED*s off

Can you see the difference?

Again, so what are your thoughts?
