all clam tank

Hello
Wow this is a great place! Anyway i have a 50 gallon reef now with a 400 watt MH radium and a 15 gallon fuge. My tank isabout 2 years old now and has about 10 corals and 6 clams. I have become literaly addicted to clams!

I am set on the idea of an ALL clam tank. Right now i use a 5 gallon aquadose with kalk to keep my calicum level about 425-450 and if needed reef advantage to raise calicum. I would like to start with the selling of my corals so that i am just down to my LR and clams. From there i would like to go to an all clam tank, with diffrent kinds of clams.

My questions really are, is it possible to keep these clams with out a claium reactor, using what i have now? How many clams over a long period of time do you believe is possible in the 50? Lots of things to rersearch. I have been very succesful with my 6 croceas and am despertly wanting to do this tank.

if you're gonna do that many clams (should be an amzing sight) it would be worth your time to just invest in a calcium reactor. a bit pricey at first but basically maintainence free.

I agree, I hav 8 in my 58g and I couldnt keep up with using 4-5 gallons of saturated kalkwasser per day. ow, with a reactor, it is great!

so mu next question there is i heard that it might not bea good idead to drip the right into a fuge from the reactor, is it ok?

i use a myreefcreation reactor. great quality and customer service. and it's a sponsor of RC so you can't go wrong.
