All coral dies or loses color

Wow, what a nightmare! :(
Have you tried a huge wad of poly filter? I know you said you ran carbon, but I wonder if there's a toxin involved. What're they spraying for in your house? Surely 2 weeks is too fast for lighting issues to kill an sps? Are your clean up crew ok?

Yep. I ran a poly for weeks straight with no change and no color change on the pad. I have a bug guy every 6 months, but he is very aware he is to go no where near the tank and nowhere near the saltwater mixing station in the basement. My wife watches him to be sure and he has assured me that he has other clients with reef tanks that haven't reported any issues.

You can kill coral in a matter of days with a light. Think of it like a really nasty sunburn.

The clean up crew is just fine, most of which I've had for the 2.5 years the tank has been up.

Hello Friend,

I know this post is very old, But I'd like to know, did you solve your problem?

I have an equal problem in my tank, as much as I do I can not keep sps alive, I am an aquariophile with experience and I have reviewed all my system very well, I am currently waiting laboratory analytical Marinlab,

I was thinking of deposits of copper or other toxic agents, but my aquarium is only 1 year old, at first everything very well...

Sorry for the slow replay, but I'm not on here very much anymore, probably because I'm still in the same position years later. I've tried everything.

The coral lives and grows, but never colors up. Anything I put in my tank goes drab. I've tried almost everything and have pretty much thrown in the towel on coral.

It's a shame, but I'm really out of options. :(

1.025 via a calibrated refractometer.

I made some changes with my LEDs last night. That's the only thing I haven't been able to rule out. Well, that and the "live rock" I got that was used. After a few months in the tank, I realized that it had epoxy on it. I was too new to know what it was when I bought it.

I've been considering switching lights to T5s.
