im setting up a nano 60 liter aquarium the back has 3 compartments and im not sure what to put in them if anything.

the middle section i will put in a 50watt heater and the last compartment i planned on ordering a tunze silent return pump.

should I add any sponge or filter floss or just leave the first section empty I am using live rock but won't have any type of protein skimmer, the plan is to change out 10 liters every week.

lastly the lighting is PL Lighting power 15w (x 2) would this be capable of keeping any lps corals or would i only be able to keep soft/zoas

With no skimmer, you are probably going to want to use some type of filter floss. My tank is larger, but it is an all in one. I don't use the skimmer but change my filter floss 3-4 times a week.

do you clean the floss when doing a water change or throw it out

You may eventually want to use the back chambers to run bagged carbon or GFO when & if the need arises. You may eventually use it to install an ATO sensor back there. If it has a device like a basket that will accommodate filter pads, I'd use those over floss. Easier to clean the pads & they usually collect more debris. Forget sponges - too hard to clean.

Your description of your light fixture didn't say much. But I doubt it would be suitable for LPS or other hard corals based on that wattage. But it may be ok for some polyps & soft corals depending on several things, including tank depth.
