'All in one' nano tank options

To make a long story short, I've unfortunately hit that point where my 65 gallon has become too much for me to maintain, and need to downgrade. I am looking at the all in one systems, but was hoping I could get some input before going out and getting one of these systems.

I really liked the 34 gallon Red Sea system, but I would prefer to stay with something with a halide, as I'm bummed enough downgrading, and would at least like to keep that beautiful look and high intensity of halides. So the only system I see that's ballpark gallon-wise is the JBJ 28 Gallon Nano Cube HQI. So first I was wondering if there is any system similar I may have missed, and was also hoping to hear some pros and cons, especially from some of the people that have them. Also, do the systems require any mods, and how is the heat issue with the HQI? I did a search and it seemed most people were happy with the system, but I would definately appreciate some more feedback.

Thanks in advance,

Pat

I have experience with the JBJ nano cube 24 and I would have to say that it is a decent little system. I would say get the 28 because I wish I had the halide, but overall the sytem is excellent. The only issue with the small tank and halide is the heating of the water(only if you leave the light on for excessive abounts of time) and the skimmer that comes with the 28 in junk. I did but a saphire aquatics skimmer that fits into the back of the 24 and have to say I am 100% impressed with the addition.

there are MANY upgrade options for all of the nano tanks (biocube, jbj nanocube, current aquapod & redsea max) that will do many different combinations of halide only or halide & PC supplementation.

check out www.nanotuners.com & www.nanocustoms.com

they sell not only upgrade kits for all the tanks, but also complete systems....not to mention a multitude of replacement parts

i have a biocube 8 that i got a few years ago & i just LOVE that lil tank. no matter what other tanks i end up with, i think i will always have it setup w/ something

dipan, I have just recently come across the 30 gallon Finnex systems, and I think it looks like another solid option. A bit more expensive, but I like the fuge addition. Any thoughts on whether one is superior to the other?

Thanks again,

Pat
