My Nanostream 6045 is making noise, like impeller touching the wall. I took it out and cleaned it and checked it. nothing wrong.

And one of my NanoWavebox pump is making noise than other. It sound like running in empty water box. (both of my nanowaveboxes are placed at same water level in the tank).
Please help. Thanks

You have checked that in both pumps the metal shaft is firmly in the pump and has not come out? If the shaft is ok, then the likely cause is calcium build up or sand in the bump and I would try disassembling the pumps, take off the cover and take out the propeller, then soak all parts in 50/50 vinegar and water. Do not use anything stronger. Let them soak for 4-6 hours and then rinse them and reassemble.

Roger,
I did that, the shaft is firm and not calcium build up. I cleaned it well, It is making noise. I try to swap the impeller of my 6025 to 6045 cause they look the same, but the problem is still there. This is my first 6045, I got it used from local reefer. what do I have to do? please advice. Thanks

Any chance of a picture of the drive units? My guess is that you have the older pre 2008 disks and drive units which were all white plastic, the only dark piece of the drive unit is the magnet. These have likely worn down and need to be replaced by 6025.700 and 6025.740. These now have a grey graphite reinforced plastic, on units made from Jan 2008-Dec 2010 the prop is the only piece that is white, this year they changed the prop to blue but besides color nothing else is different. Probably the 6045 disk is more worn or completely gone so the noise is worse regardless of drive unit, both disk and drive unit must be changed as the materials must match.
