I have two in my 180 gallon mixed reef. Mine swim out in the open most of the time and are not timid at all and eat everything offered. I find them to be peaceful with other fish but one will chase the other so they set up separate territories but no major damage occurs from the occasional chase. The only real downside is that they are diggers and will occasionally stir up the sand to dig out a hideout or sleeping place under the rocks. Other than that relatively minor annoyance they are active and provide beautiful jewel-like electric blue color and movement to the reef.
Anyone else find that they are not too aggressive towards other species? Like how chromis are peaceful? I would really like to try them if it's not likely they'll harass my more timid fish like other damsels do.
