Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello.
My name is Matthew and I have had several smaller tanks over the past 3 or 4 years - the last being a 29 display with a 20 long sump/fuge that ran for a little under a year until I decided to move here. I decided, reluctantly, to break it down and sell off my stuff rather than try and move it all during a 3.5-4 hour trip in a truck that wouldn't go over 65-70. My wife and I miss our "kids" a ton but we are going to take our time and do this new tank right before we go making an offer to buy things back from people.
Our timeframe is about a year for planning/purchasing/setting up the new tank that will be going along a ~10' wall that we have in our living room and then surrounded by book shelves to cover the rest of the wall. The biggest concern that I have come up with now is that there is no room for a "fish room" so everything will need to fit inside the stand and hood.
So for now, expect me to be lurking around the ORCA community picking up tips on local shops, custom tank/stand builders, etc...

The tank is plumbed for auto dump water changes into a drain. The check valve is to prevent any backflow into the tank from the drain. Yes, nice to be married to someone with 36 years as a plumbing contractor. This sytem is designed so any pump can be easily switched out and we can control the flow into just about any section of the tank. Because it's so deep (4 ft.) we added a closed loop to make sure the water circulates to the top. More toys still need to be added, but so far I'm pleased with the ease we'll have in maintenance. BTW, this will be about 650 total gallon system.
