almost lost my reef! best controller?

Unfortunately I only own the light version so I don't know all the details about the more advanced options. Hopefully someone with a little more knowledge can be of more help.
Ok thanks, I got the light too and I think I'm also being sent the temp probe.

Im very happy with my reef keeper lite. I added 2 additional pb4's and the salinity module. haven't ever hooked it up to my computer, as its extremely easy to program on the small head unit itself. BRS has a a great video that talks you through initial programming. great little controller for the money if you don't need internet connectivity.

Just went through brs reviews and Amazon reviews for apex. Seems like a lot of really bad experiences and I will have to pass on risking that. That's to bad, looks like a good product. Many reviews mention how they got screwed or slow back and forth emails...

You do realize that 99% of the people who have positive experiences, don't post about it on the internet. Only those that have bad experiences post about it on the net.

I used the RKL on my last tank until I needed/wanted the features in the Apex. The Lite is limited to 4 modules, which, for me, didn't do it. Setup was easy, but a lot more Button pushing.
Now I just keep it around for my QT.

If I had a choice between the apex and reefkeeper it would be apex everytime. There is no comparison.

You're right. No comparison when 124 bucks will get you started. The entry level apex is just under double that.

I slightly disagree as both entry level items on brs have generally the same 4.3 or so star reviews. People do generally complain more but I find there to be quite a bit of positive and negative reviews on both.

I've never owned an apex, and would have bought one if money was no issue, but unfortunately I have a budget. It's hard to justify double for something that the alternative works just fine doing what it's been designed to do.
