Just woindering, how did you come to the concluision that one skimmer "blows another out of the water" when they both do the job well?

Just looks at the numbers and its also half the cost...

BK 250 1500 LPH @ 38W http://www.aquacave.com/Royal-Exclu...-Skimmer-with-Red-Dragon-1500-Pump-P2425.aspx
SRO 5000 2100 L/H @ 54W http://coralvue.com/bubbleblaster/

I couldnt find the ATB LPH, looks to be around 1500.

and before you go and say they run some super special pump, no they[bk/atb] run on a pond pump.

Thank you so much USC-fan. I really appreciate the help. Looking at the reviews its coming back pretty solid. The price of this skimmer now gives me extra money to use for something else for the tank.

The sro are nice I run a 3000 and a vertex 250 in my sump with it as well I can say the vertex does make finer bubbles than the sro and pulls a small amount more. Some people don't mind paying for the serviceability factor though and the vertex quality puts the sro to shame in that area. Titanium screws where my sro allready has rusting ones is nice the fact that you can remove the bottom plate and actually clean inside is very nice to the weight of the cast acylic vs the plastic single piece chamber speaks for itself. I won't ague that there is anything wrong with either and the sro does a fantastic job for the money. Atb looks like they make a great skimmer too I was looking into one before I got my vertex. I don't think any of those skimmers is a bad buy.

I've had the vertex for a few weeks now. Its a beast of a skimmer. It's dead quiet and you wouldnt know its even running. the amount of stuff it pulls out is pretty unreal.

I've not had experience with the other skimmers. But a thumbs up to this one if you choose it.
