Hi,
Just wondering whether any of you use any alternative methods of ridding aiptasia from a tank other than joes juice.

Thanks,
Chris

Kak paste over them works well. I usually just take the rock out scrub the portion of it with aipstasia, and run a little FW over that area and put back into the tank.
Or I will just stab the thing several times, and it usually takes care of it.

I have also heard that injecting them with hot water also works.

I used the Boiling water method and it works good,It would probably work better if the syringe had a pointed end so you can kind of stab and inject them.

take a wooden kabob spike and cut that [violation] so bad he gonan wish you didnt cut him so ba' man

hehe im bored can you tell?

Bored or not, please keep your language family-friendly.

tried the ccb and the shrimp - no luck

vinegar did the trick - 1ml injected into the base. shrivels them up. just watch out for your ph.

You may need to repeat again if you dont inject them right on. Those buggers retract quickly. Just wait a few days between sessions so you dont get the ph swings.

get the SeaChem liquid calcium suppliment (the blue stuff)
fill a syringe up with the stuff and burn it away
you don't need to inject anything,
just the high concentration of calcium will kill them off on contact

it will also work with GSP's and Xenia that's out of hand

and you get a free dose of calcium :)

I had one that just would not die. SO I removed the rock, and took a lighter to him for about a min or two. He looked pretty toasted. But then a week later he started showing signs of life again. At which point I removed the rock, and used a blow torch to him for 5min. That got him.
