mid sized bubble tip anemone got stuck in powwer head-what was he doing up there!-woke up to cloudy nasty tank -removed anemone-did quick water change before work-what should i do or watch for--thanx gary

The anemone was obviosly moving because he was not happy where he was. I woudl keep and eye for the rest of the tank, but i would another water change, since you might have toxins form teh anemones floating around the tank that will cause you more pain later on by loosing corals.

Run carbon and water changes. You may want to change carbon after a few days and add some fresh. hate to hear that. I've been lucky in the past. I've had several go wandering (typically after a split) and get anice buzz cut, but haven't lost any yet. FWIW, in the future, turn the powerhead off and let the anemone move out on it's own (unless there is just nothing left but a thin wrap of tissue). Thye can recover from alot of abuse. I know;).

too late

was only about 20 % of him left when i found him--tank looks pretty good taoday after adding extra back filter whith carbon--but heniochos has very small white dots-doesnt look like ick -smaller-looks like a bacterial infection--anyone have suggestions

how exactly does an anemone get caught in a powerhead? i've read about this several times, but don't understand how it would happen. do they sometimes crawl up the side of the tank? do people not have guards on the powerheads? not flaming, just curious, as i have an anemone and don't want this to happen.
