American Marine Ph Controller ????

I was thinking about getting a calcium reactor, I know that you need to monitor Ph, Is this a good buy for 185 on Marine depot?

I have 4 American Marine pH controllers. Two for calcium reactors and two for kalkwasser dosers. Very reliable, pH readings down to .01ppm. Easy to calibrate, a bit tricky to set your high points and low points until you do it once or twice but when set it holds your set points rock solid. None of the four has failed me yet. I love them. Don't particularly care for the pH readings of Milwaukee that only go down to .1ppm.

I researched and finally bought a Ca setup with a pH controller. I just ordered it today so I cannot comment on my experience yet - will receive my toy next Tuesday! I had AM Pinpoint Controller on my list for the longest time and ultimately bought Reef Fanatic. Bought the entire package at Premium Aquatics - they have the RF Controller on sale for $139.99 - normally $179.99. My research seems to indicate good feedback on the RF unit. Calibrating it is suppose to be very easy with one button auto cal. Accuracy is good to 0.01. Good luck with this.

I have 2, one on calc reactor, one on CO2 for FW plants/pH control. Had both about 4 years, never a problem. Only replaced one probe a few months ago when I broke glass while cleaning. They Caled great everytime I checked them (some say probes only last a year or so)

Thanks for the feedback guys. So I have heard a lot of great things about the AM pinpont, what do you think about the one Best is talking about, of course it is much cheaper.

John,

I like that suggestion - he buys it and gets taken for everything he owns - then he can tell us that it "STINKS".

We get the info :) and HE gets the bill!:( ha ha WOW! I wish I would have thought of that. hehe :)

Sondra :)

I didn't mean it in a mean way, just mean't never tried it. If oddiseus gets it, post feedback on what its like? I like to stay with the regular brands, saving a few bucks on equiptment for a reef tank can be costly.

John - I am teasing you. :) You know how it is sometimes, we need to just let go. And, I was at one of those times. Kind of like the day I talked about selling my first born to get $$$ for the next swap. :)
