ammonia and clownfish

I am dealing with an ammonia spike as I didn't realize the bacteria from my 4 year old established freshwater would not transfer in my switch to a saltwater tank. I have a 125 gallon tank and switched it to salt water about 2.5 weeks ago. I added 1 damsel about 1.5 weeks ago and then got two 1 inch long osc clownfish after it appeared there was no ammonia spike from the damsel (obviously I didn't wait long enough). I am working on a sump and skimmer for it but won't have them up for about another month or two. I do have two emperor 400 hang on back filters until then. So what level of ammonia will the clown fish be able to handle until the spike is over (I know any amount is bad) but what will it take to kill them. I have a 30 gallon tank I was planning on making into my sump that I could put them in for now if I needed to and just do lots of water changes until the main tank cycles.
