Ammonia at Zero

Still cycling. Ammonia is at 0. Nitrites are around 1. Nitrates are around 15.

I want to make sure I am understanding the process.

Am I right assuming that this means the Ammonia is being converted to Nitrites, and that the nitrites are beginning to be converted to nitrates? Should I begin water changes now? When should I start my skimmer?

Wait till nitrites are at 0 too. The run your skimmer do a water change and start to add some of your cuc to get things going

OP your understanding is correct. IMO if you wanted to run your skimmer go ahead. I would wait till the nitrites get to zero, should not be long, then do a WC. Good luck just my 2 cents.

Thanks everyone. Waiting on this cycle has been torment. I am ready for fish LOL. Been using NiteOut II and it has helped to scoot things along, but still has taken a few weeks. Ready to see some movement!
