I have a 4 inch H. malu in treatment in only 1/2 of a gallon of water and it is doing fine. Though I did 100% water change and full tank cleaning every other day.
It just finished treatment and I will move it to a larger tank later this week.
I don't think ammonia should be of great concern, especially if the anemone isn't bleached and gets enough light. The Zooxanthellae will just take the ammonia as food.
My malu expelled quite a few Zooxanthellae masses without the slightest sign of bleaching. It's sitting at the periphery of a Kessil A360WE with only about an inch of water above it - so lots of light.
thanks for the input I just want to make sure that wouldn't be a factor in the treatment of this anemone this is the second anemone that I've received from LA both shipped very well.the first one I put in the treatment too latethis new one and I started treating immediately responding very well.
