Ammonia & Nitrite

When I woke up this morning I noticed something wrong in my tank, my table acro and my newest acropora had started to die. I checked my parameters and 1.0 Ammonia, .50 Nitrite, and below 7.4 Ph what I don't understand is that nothing has died the only thing that has been added lately is some caulerpa in my refuge to get it started. If anyone can give me another reason things went out of wack please let me know so I know to not do it or get close to it again?

2 possible things...maybe bad test kit.
or maybe the culerpa went sexual. I know it does this in the wild, nto sure if the cultured ones do it to. Just giving you some guesses which are very much guesses and are probably wrong and a free bump.

7.4 pH is VERY low. That probably killed/damaged things, including the acro, causing your NH3 and NO2 to rise.

Check to see why your pH is so low. Does anyone smoke in your house? Do you have adequate surface turbulence/gas exchange? A lot of factors here..

It's really weird. Since you did nothing before it happen the only thing may caused damaged it's the algae, caulerpas releases a toxin in times, I donââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t know if itââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s enough to cause a damage like this however itââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s not good for the tank.
