Ammonia spike sickness.....

I just pulled off 3 water changes to lower my ammonia spike which was over 8 ppm.....My fish survived but some of them are showing the after effects (hemorraging, fins messed up, bumps on bodies/scales).

My water is close to perfect now

ph 8.2
ammonia 0 ppm
nitrite 1.0
nitrates 10 ppm

my false perc is fine, purple dotty is fine, yellow tailed damsel is fine, cleaner wrasse is fine,

but my blue hippo, yt have bumps and little fin tears, auriga fly shows scales damage...
Their hemorraging is going away now but their other symptoms are still showing.....

My question is Is this going to be permanent, periodical, or one time thing where the fish are going to show signs of sickness after this ammonia spike???? The fish were not taken out during the spike except I did 3 60% water changes. Now I'm where I need to be.....

I dont have a good answer for your question as to what other problems you might face due to that high of an ammonia spike, however, I am curious how you got a spike that high?

There might be some lingering effects from the ammonia spike if it caused damage to some internal organs.
In my early days, I had a bad ammonia spike in a QT that messed up a swallowtail angel. He lived for a week after the incident, but then died suddenly one day.

My only fish that are suffering...yt, blue hippo, and auriga fly.......
scales burned, small bumps on body and the rest; false perc, purple dotty, cleaner wrasse, and six liner are fine externally.
