can you cycle tank with household ammonia and if so how much would you use to start cycle in a 60 gallon tank?

i am sure you could however i don't reccomend it. i would just get some uncured LR or a raw shrimp from the grocery store to start the cycle
I wouldn't use any household ammonia since I'd be afraid of some soap, etc, or other ingredients. You can get ammonium choride from the Photographer's Formulary on the web, if you want to use a chemical. If the tank has live rock (cured or uncured), there's no need either for the shrimp or a chemical, though.

Some people even pee in the tank but that is just weird.
