This morning my tank (125 DT- 40 fuge 75 sump) was fine, dosed a small amount of Alk and an even smaller dose of calc.. Ran some errands came back 2 hours later and the tank is pure white, can hardly see a thing. PH was 8.5, Alk was 10 and Cal 400. Ran to CC to get more RO water and have water tested. All results were good except the ammonia, I'm off the chart. I have no idea where it is coming from, ALL fish accounted for, Corals look great. I changed about 80 gallons this afternoon, I have another 35 gal ready for tomorrow. I just don't know where it came(coming) from??

I have a doresa clam about 7". Could the clam cloud the water?

Just a guess, possible spawning event. I imagine a clam that size could cloud your tank. My giant acanthophylia did it to my tank a few days ago. I've also seen mass spawning by margarita snails, mini brittle stars and acan lords. It almost always happens shortly after dosing something. Had to use a diatom filter to clear things up in a few cases.

Does that release amonia? According to CC my ammonia was off the charts

If your ammonia was off the charts, I think you would have lost fish. Sounds like maybe something spawned. I would either pick up an ammonia test or have it re-tested

It's possible whatever was in the water was causing a false reading with their kit. You may end up with a similar reading with another test kit as well. Like Andy said, if it really was off the charts you would have suffered losses.

Thanks guys. Fortunately everything looks no different today than it did two days ago! Must have been a spawn, it was amazing I could barely see anything in the tank.
