Amount a clown eats

Ok, so this morning I shut the pumps down to feed and guess who showed up? they littlest clown. Staring up at me, and the light was on! I was so happy. I thawed a bit of brineshrimp with garlic, diced them smaller with a razor and drop it in the water and the little one spent the next 10 mins eating till his belly was full! Also he has gained a good bit of color back, but still has a white dull sheen. The larger one ate a few small chunks but did not show the vigor of the other. The larger one is just about 100% dull white.

The little one is also exploring the tank and has made friend with the sexy shrimp.

I will once I am home. My lights are very blue so the one's I have tried to take are horrible. I'll post one of those but cant see much.

cant see anything

and

I'll get some with white light later tonight at the next feeding

I'm going to do three 2 gallon water changes also. I'm thinking my rock might be leeching something I don't have a test for. I did 3x2 gallons yesterday and I am thinking that is what brought on the improved eating. If it proves to be the rock may Pull it out for now and let it soak in RODI water for a month or so more.
I acid washed it and bleached it last month, let it soak with water changes until it should zero on all my tests, but who knows I may have missed something.
The inverts seem fine so I figured it would be ok for fish. I may be over thinking this lol and just have very very shy young fish. (I will never buy little ones again. So much worrying :)

Little one is looking 50% better then yesterday.

and

big one is slightly better, still not eating and looking like it.

and

its hard to see the dull white on his body in the picture but it covers about 90% of him.
His breathing is also above normal.

Thanks for the help.

Update;
Ok so last night I did three small 3 gallon water changes over a 5 hour time span. I'm just going off the assumption that it is something I can not detect in my tank. As of this morning the two little fish look considerably better. The white patches have decreased on the snowflake by a good margin, the little that is left seems to be flaking off in patches. Almost like he is shedding it. The little guy is not "shedding" but the pail patches are looking much healthier. Both attacked the brine and shrimp I fed this morning and are now exploring the tank looking for more food among the rockwork.
This makes me wonder if my rock is leeching or maybe something in my system in not reef safe (vibration pads, tubing, silicon) but when I built it I did my research. I did however use DAP silicon the first time I installed the overflow, then removed it and used marineland silicon. I really tried to remove all of the DAP...that makes me wonder.(aaarrrrgggg). But if that were the case, my shrimp and snails would have died within days of acclamation I believe.
I am just happy the fish are doing better. They seem to be adjusting, even with my constant worry and system fiddling.

What do you have on inverts or decorative macro algae in your tank?
If none of the above you could try CP (NLS Ick-Shield).

I have a pair of sexy shrimp and two sand sifter snails. I also have a very small portion of cheato, I'm going to go to petco later today and look for invert safe treatment.

Forget invert safe treatments - they are most of the time snake oil and do nothing.
I would rather take the snails, and algae out - shrimps should be fine - and treat the tank with CP.
The snails and algae should be able to survive in a small tank on the window.

I set up a 5 gallon QT next to my DT. The clowns are now living in it. I ordered meds online and picked up some ich treatment from petco. No LFS's in my area so it will have to do until the meds get here. As soon as the petco stuff went in the water I cant see any white patches on the two of them....weird, they all just disappeared. I'm going to let the meds run for however long the bottle says. Petcos is a week. I plan to leave the QT tank up for the rest of the time I have the DT.
Lesson learned :D

WOW they look 100x better. Glad to see it.

Thanks, I would have given up with out you guy's help. I didn't think the petco stuff was going to be worth the $$ and I would have had to count on the CP coming in the mail (I will still treat them with it.) but so far, I am impressed. They seem really happy, they are nudging each other and have moved into the flower pot all in the span of the last 3 hour. total time in the QT 3 1/2 hours.

Hello, Not trying to hijack your post...but have question about using the flower pot. Did you have to do anything special to pot to put in tank for them? Also glad to see and hear your clowns are doing better.
Thanks in advance
Betty

I just scrubbed it in RODI and soaked it for a while then put it in the tank. I have never done anything other then that. I don't know if that's the best way, but it works for me.

Lost the snowflake this morning. I notice him swimming in spirals so I removed the flow but he did not last an hour. I inspected him out of the water and found no remaining signs of illness. The little clown seems to be doing fine and eating well. Hope he makes it.
