I am interested of getting a pair of Amphiprion chrysopterus also know as blue line clown or orangefin anemone. I would prefer from australia. Anyone could get me some info, i would appreciate it.

They are very dellicate shippers and are very prone to diseases.
They are very common in the wild but you will probably not see them for sale that often because mortality rates will be so high. A long quarantine period is a must.

I have just sold a pair, I had them for a year beautiful but the female was an intolerable bully. qt a must and a big tank. My Ideal would really be a merten's nem in a 5 foot cube with crazy flow one or two sps........in other words leave them in the ocean.

As mentioned, QT is a must. They have become much more common to the trade in recent years. You should be able to find some. They are not found in Australia.

Old thread, I know, but yes, they are found in Australia. I know because I've personally seen them on the Great Barrier Reef, Ribbon Reefs, and Coral Sea.

They might occur in Australia naturally (like above said) but they certainly are not commonly imported FROM Australia.

They are more commonly imported from Fiji, Tonga, Marshall Is. areas.

Solomon Island ones are particularly beautiful. Also from Guam which tend to be more orangish.

I don't believe there is anyone collecting in Guam for the US right now only Japan, but Guam doe's have the most amazing Chrysopterus you have ever seen.

Yep! I had a friend who was stationed at the Navy base in Guam who dove for Chrysos and rose anemones. I received some Chrysopterus from him years ago. They were the white tail variety.
