Hi All,
I would never usually post about new critter's so early in the game but these critter's are far from usual. I have returned from Lord Howe with Mcc's in tow and while I don't really have any time to answer questions or go into detail I thought everyone might be interested in a bit of a teaser picture. In time I should be able to make it back on to this forum to answer questions but until then I hope you all enjoy this pic.

She is as fat as she looks, gravid I think the word is :), good eye spotting it from such a pic. They are one of 4 mature pairs, all 4 were spawning when I collected them, with huge batches of eggs. I took one 'pair' of juv's because I couldn't resist them, when they are young they have three bands and look a bit like a black juv akindyos. The pair in that pic have already displayed spawning behavior, on their second day in their tank no less. The female hassles him a bit and then he obediently bites away at the rock just below that lower anemone, I actually have it on video.

It seems my pic can't display urls so I have to remove it, if I get a chance I will try and replace it later, sorry.

When you get the time, you will have to write the tale of the big trip.

Got the rotifers going right? I hope they put out larger larva than akins, otherwise we are going to have to find a way to get you some S-strain.
 
I will see what I can do once they have all settled in :).
I have rots and pods and probably a few things in between and some practice with some more common species. It might have just been the water enlarging things but the eggs looked quite large, as big or bigger then common stuff like ocellaris and tomatoes and much bigger then maroon eggs.

Nor me! :( (Notice my clever avoidance of using either "either" or "neither" .. since I'm not sure what to use .. either! Ok sorry for the puns but add me to list of "I can't see the pic") ;)
 
I think a little reading would resolve the need to use either or neither....

I have actually already got many of my pics already hosted thanks, I've just been a bit rushed to double post and host everything. If you click on my little red house there is more info and pics. I checked the rules and I think saying this is not breaking any of them.
