I am debating the usage of this pump as a return from my basement. I know that they have had problems with seals wearing out every couple years but that is fine with me.
Running this pump w/ 2" pipe give a max output of 4500gph at 0' head and has a max head of 18'
I would like to run it on two tanks as a return and circulation. It would need to supply a 120 gallon mixed reef that it would need to pump 9 ft vertical and 17 ft horizontally. The other tank would be a combined 300 gallon (7ft x 4ft) frag tank / sump. I also plan on using eductors for both of these setups.
I am wondering if this pump is large enough? I know the sequence pumps are great but this pump runs @ an average wattage of 170W which is great. If I have to go up in size and look at the hammerhead pumps they run in the mid to upper 300's for wattage. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
