An affordable RO or RODI unit?

I love my refurbished spectrapure 90 gpd. It's well built, and the replacement filters are cheap and easy to source. It's great out of the box for normal water and also customizable for unique water issues, I have high sediment and low tds, was easy to optimize. Customer service was responsive and knowledgable when I needed them. http://spectrapure.com/Refurbished-90-GPD-RODI-System mine was $150 after shipping and had all the necessary connectors as well as a pressure gauge. I prefer a handheld tds meter, they're another $30 but you should have that anyway if your buying from lfs.

Buckeye hydro and another sponsor whose name I forgot make these basic 4 stage units as well, and have good reviews. What you don't want is some cheap "buddy" unit off eBay or Amazon.

I have a 5 stage BRS RODI and I got it for $100 on craiglist. It does the job well, and if you have a little patience with that you can get a steal of a deal.

My 75 GPD 4 stage BRS has served me well since 10/2013. It has the TDS meter, pressure gauge and flush system. TDS Meter is a bit hard to read due to my install under a sink, but otherwise a great system.

I have an old school coralife pureflo ii.

I have an extra canister from BRS that I use for DI resin. I'm happy with it.

I also have the refurbished SpectraPure 90 GPD. Excellent customer service, i've had to deal with them twice and both times they went above and beyond. My unit arrived with a broken john guest elbow fitting, but they got a replacement out to me in 2 days. The second time surprised me, but it's why I can so easily recommend them. I bought a 180 GPD membrane when I first started out, thinking there'd be no drawbacks and i'd get faster water production. I asked on RC why I was getting 10 TDS now before DI and SpectraPure said it's because I purchased a membrane designed for aquaponics, where super high rejection rates apparently aren't as critical. A rep PMed me and offered to take it back for full store credit which blew me away.

Who sends you a water bill? Best to check out your water quality report before buying a RODI system in case you have any special needs.
