An Algae Benny Question

Hello Everyone,
I recently got a little 1 inch algae blenny and so far he has been adjusting well. However, it has been about three days now and I am starting to get worried that he is not eating. My friend used to have an algae blenny that would eat flakes whenever he put them in, however mine seems to have no interest in flakes. I have tried giving him some nori but I dont seem him eating it. What should I do? And is there a chance that he will start to eat flakes?
Thanks,

How much algae do you have in the tank. I've had varied experiences with these guys. I had the Algae Blenny and a similar fish, the Starry Blenny. My Algae Blenny would eat hair algae and so would my Starry, but my Starry eventually just dissapeared, even though there was algae in the tank. It could have been something else that took him out. My Algae Blenny also ate Nori like it was going out of style, but it took him a bit to try it. I put the nori in there for several days and it started getting really soggy and breaking apart, that seems like it was when he first tried it, but then he would eat it like crazy when I put it in there. Mine also ate pellets from the water column. Your little guy may still be adjusting as well.

It could be just adjusting to the new tank. How old is your tank?

I have a Starry right now and he eats all kinds of algae in my tank. When I first got him I had issues with bryopsis. After 3 weeks he had eaten all of it. He has never ate the nori sheets I put in. He does eat pellets, shrimp pellets, and Mysis shrimp. With my little guy took him about a month until I started to notice him eating the pellets.

have a starry blenny who eats algae and rods food (frozen food) I put in, it took a few days before he started.

FYI I have heard it is hard to keep a lawnmower (algae blenny) and starry together.

I have one that has no interest in prepared. It simple feeds off the stuff growing on the rock and the back of the tank.

It depends on the type of blend you have I have a black stocky type I have him for years never ate anything that I threw in the tank only algae, funny I put some Cobalt food in there and now he eats everything.
