I stole this picture from deepsea's thread, I really want an id on it...can someone help me out?

Thats what I thought...but the guy says that he does not know what it is, and he would probably know it is a zoo colony.

i dont know if you saw my post or not but it really looks like a leptastrea to me. i have a few colonys in my tank and its pretty identical.......minus the neon yellow! lol

Well this is what I get when I look up leptastrea... So I do not think that it is it, and maybe you have your corals mixed up. They say it is a "crusting" type of coral and that does it does not look to encrust.

lol those are poor quality photos and no i definently dont have my corals mixed up. i dont know how to post pics but hopefully somone on here has a close up pic of leptastrea. im usually pretty accurate with coral id's and im almost certain it is leptastrea. but i agree. if those two pics were the only leps youve ever seen, i can seewhy you would disagree.

these are from reefermadness.us and they both are called leptastrea pruinosa, and it still does not look like it to me, they do not seem to have the tentacles like the on that I am wondering about.

the polyps in those pics are retracted were as the tentacles in your first pic are completely expanded as if food were in the tank. plus notice that the first pic you see a good bit of the polyps from the side which really shows the tentacles well, and in the other pics they are pics taken dead on making the tentacles not nearly as prominent. trust me, its a leptastrea.
