An introduction to my tanks

First off, no laughing! I rent and have limited means, so my tanks are not as big as most of you all's. lol. I used to have a 58 gallon with a 20 gallon sump, but I just couldn't afford the equipment to make the job of caring for a tank that large, easier. So, I split the tank into a 20 gallon I had lying around and a 37 gallon mirror back. No sump anymore.

Here are some pics of the 20g

I just moved the rock around, so its blindingly white.

I got this little neon green toadstool from greg at Crase! It opened up today but my batteries are dead on my camera so this pic will have to do.

Ok, you cant see it but this rock has suddenly sprouted polyps. Two different kinds... does anyone know what kind of coral makes a skeleton like this?
Its the one above the fuzzy green shroom, with all the holes. The mushroom came on it and I thought it was just a coral skeleton, but it has come back to life!

you can see the holey rock better in the 37 gallon full tank shot. Is that what acropora skeletons look like? Im a hard coral idiot, I have no Idea...

The uhh coral is the ORA Green Birdsnest. Dont know what the pinkish one is, didnt come from us. The Green Monti you got from us is the Tyree Limited Edition
Montipora aquituberculata, its the most fluroscent lime green monti I have seen, one of my favorites in my tank. The neon green toadstool is called a Nepthia very colorful piece as well. The two sprouters you have are mushrooms, they look healthy and will probably sprout more within the next few weeks. The green one with the red polup's is call a Meteor Shower cyphastria nice piece as well. You made some good choices they should all do very well for you in a short amount of time. I hope you enjoy them all, it appears they went to a good home! Your tanks are very cool, nice job.

I like your leather, your dottyback and your feather duster. All are very pretty.

You picked up some nice pieces - just wait a year or so and take a look at this thread - you'll be amazed at the growth!

BTW, I wanna be first in line when you frag that neon green nepthea...

I really like the aquascaping in your 20g and you have some really nice looking corals. I had a little trouble with the 37g shot ( my eyes aren't too good.) Nice!

lol, I know I have two mushrooms Greg! I bought the green mushroom and it was attached to that holey looking rock. Now there are tiny tiny polyps coming out of half the holes and some kind of encrusting polyp on some flatter holes that are on the other side of the rock. Many thanks again for the beautiful frags you sold me at crase! And thanks for the names, lol! April, There are actually two nepthea's on that frag when they get to big to share that rock the other is yours! But you have to trade me something cool from your tank! ;)

Looks like you have a great start there, Lauren.

Good choices. Your tank will be very colorful in no time.

the tanks look good, well done! The comas folks will keep you on the right track, they're good people as you have seen.

That cyphastrea will grow like a weed in the right conditions. Give it moderate to moderate-low lighting and decent flow to catch particulate in the water column and it will flourish. Mine had some trouble keeping its color when fully out under my T5s, but now is back to beautiful under some rock shade. The green monti is a great grower and will always stand out in the tank. I bought both of these from Greg before I moved and they're still kicking *** despite some slight mishaps after getting settled down in florida.

Nice tanks! I really like the 20, get that battery charger... We're all about the pics around here! :D

Thanks everyone! I know they are small but I really feel like my 20g has been a success. The levels in it are always great and everything I put in it flourishes. All the button polyps started out as 3-4 polyps per frag and they have really taken off. That toadstool has grown alot too! It's funny, I actually started this tank to save my corals while I broke down my 58g, but it did so well, I just left it up.
