Given that this is an Azoox forum, what do we think we should be keeping our tank's temps at? I know the standard is 78 to 82. Should it be lower for these guys since they typically come from deeper darker water?

Yes. Some corals are ok at higher temps but all of them do better at lower temps. I'd say between 72 - 76 is acceptable, with occasional jumps up to 78 on hot summer days. This is from my own experience. Once you get into the 80's you start losing the more delicate stuff.

Other than warm summer days, I've been keeping my little collection at 75. They seem to be most comfortable in that temperature range.

For me, I am between 71-72 right now. Any where in the mid 70's I believe is safe waters. What information can be difficult to find is actually depths/location of where the corals we are putting in our tanks are being collected from. You take dendronephthya for example; you will find them from mangrove to oceans' deep which between the two is a wide range in temperature differences. Showing how the coral can adapt to different environments. Now how the temperature difference will effect the coral nutritional needs/uptake may be something to further look into.
