At Gerrit's request, and to chronicle my experiences with this relatively unusual specimen, I have started a new thread which properly identifies this fish. That way, if someone searches for it in the future, they will find some information.

Hello, gorgeous...

This fish was obtained from my local Pe*Co store on 02/24/2011. I feel certain it came in as an anomaly, as the only other dragonets were scooter blennies. The pictures document healthy weight, clear eyes, clean fins free of ich, et cetera.

The fish is currently housed in a 10g tank which has been set up for approximately 2.5 years. Other inhabitants include a redheaded goby, one blue legged hermit crab, and approximately 10 pounds of live rock. The dragonet is being fed live baby brine shrimp, frozen mysis and frozen cyclops. The tank has a large pod population as well, which has not visibly diminished in the last week. Large pods are still visible on the glass at all time.

Please ignore my bubble algae. I let this tank stay pretty natural, as it is my isolation tank and cultivation tank for asterina stars (for my bongo shrimp).

One more picture, just so you can see how complex her coloring is. She looks like a sandy brown fish until you get very close...
