I need some input on what would be the best day , and time to have our meetings . ANCHOR members please respond .

Ted, I have noticed other clubs having attendance issues as well. Weekday meetings are hard for working folks and weekends are often busy for people with kids.
Don't be discouraged by my inconsistent attendance, that is why I lurk the boards so much, my schedule changes and online is always avail. I love the Sat meetings but don't always have a Sat available.
I know attendance sucks right now but my vote would be for keeping the 2nd Sat schedule. That way people can try to anticipate each month, even if they have to miss a few.
Hopefully you will get some more input

I stopped responding that I could make meetings because it seemed something came up everytime with me. With 3 young kids (therefore sports, sickness, b-day parties, etc), I just can't commit. I want to go to ALL the meetings ... I really had a great time at Steve's that time.
For me...if I can make it, I would only be able to go on weekends. Usually between 11 to 3-ish.

I have only been to a couple of meetings and those were both at Steve's house. My problem, being down in Palm Harbor is getting free long enough to allow time for the drive "up north" and for the meetings themselves. The one concern I would have with a weekday meeting would be fighting the rush hour traffic. So my vote, for whatever it is worth would be to stay with Saturday's. I do plan on trying to make more meetings in 2008 as well as hosting a meeting if everyone is willing to come south. Maybe even an "on-the-water" meeting if that would be of interest.

Laine , I know it's hard to make some of the meetings . Other things come up all the time . I was just trying to see if a different day , and or time would make it easier for most . I love our club ,and want to see it grow .

What about a Sunday afternoon meeting?
I saw that TB reef club is going to try to alternate some months having a Friday evening meeting and other months a Saturday would be scheduled.
I personally think that alternating might make it a bit confusing for members, that knowing it is always the 2nd Sat is easier to keep in mind, but I don't want the same people to always feel left out.
I think there is always something enticing, it is fun to catch up with everyone and always something new to see and talk about with the host's tank, not to mention the freebies that always appear. It seems to be more of availabilty issue rather than lack of interest.

I think more promotion locally would help. We talked about flyers and business cards. I made the business card design, but never printed them off. I can make flyer designs too. Just a matter of dong it. We could post the flyers at the LFS in our area and I am sure we would get some "fresh blood" The only problem with that is contact information.
Also, holidays are too busy for everyone. December is probably a month to skip our meetings unless we start a holiday party like Brian in Sarasota.

Diane , your right , we need to recruit more members . I guess we should keep the meetings the second Saturday of the month . February is just around the corner , so we need a volunteer , to host the meeting . Ted
