There will be a crew here today to start the install of the solar panels. It should take about 3 days, so in reallity 2 weeks. I'll let everyone know how it goes. Wish us luck!!
still don't understand how LIPA calls it self a NON PROFIT organization and has one of the highest electrical rates in the country.
Fio are you one of the 12 guys I always see standing around wile only one is doing actual work? Are you the reason we pay so mush?:mixed:
Joe good choice, at work they are looking to install solar on a commercial building, I'm following it close, but still gives me the chills when I see how much it costs to have it installed.
Keep us posted
No,I'm the guy you see working in the middle of the night or when a pole is snapped in half across a road.I do get alot of downtime but that's part of the job.
I actually work for Keyspan which LIPA has a contract with.We don't set the rates.

Marc the owner of the company is really into energy conservation. If the members would like and I can set it up with the BOD he is willing to do a presintation at a LIRA meeting. So just chime in if your interested. Although not a reefing subject. Its a good investment, not just the $$$ but the earth.
