And so it begins...

Some tank build/fish room progress. Won't be the worlds largest fishroom, but it will hold my couple tanks, quarantine tanks, frag tanks etc at least.

Framing is mostly complete and should have the electrical work done tomorrow. Hopefully i'll be doing some plaster work in the next couple of days on it.

The larger opening is for the 275 gal reef. The smaller opening is for a 75 FOWLR tank.

Looks good, you're off to a nice start. Let me know if you need/want any help. I thought you got the 300g acrylic from Jason's friend? What's with the 275?

well Jason said its 300, but when I run the measurements into a gallons calculator its just over 275. But yes its the same tank.

Good start. Yeah, definitely, if you need any help let me know. Are you planning to plumb both tanks to the same sump system?

thanks for the offers guys. i'll let you know.

Yes to the same sump. at least that is the plan for now. going to have to see what fish I end up with and what the bioload is. i'm hoping with enough skimmer and live rock I can make it work.

I wish. Tank really isn't big enough though. If I hadn't bought this tank and built a plywood one it would have been big enough, but oh well. Its going to be a reef tank instead.

looking nice so far. that tank has a large footprint and would be a nice reef tank! i remember seeing it with a football sized puffer in it at bobby lee's

football sized puffer must have been something to see.

Got my electrical run today and started on the plasterboard. hopefully get that done tomorrow and get to plastering in a day or two.

Remind me to show you the book I bought about sharks and talk to you about layout of rockwork, you may be able to keep a shark... especially a reef shark of smaller size...

Really? I didn't know there were any small enough that would actually be reef safe.

progress update: I worked until 2am on it this morning, but I got all the plaster work done. Gotta give it a little while to properly dry out now and then it will be painting time.

Well the painting is done. going to get the stand finished up this afternoon. anyone want to come over tonight and help me lift the tank into place? :)

well I jumped the gun. got the stand all built and its 1/8" out of level on one side and 1/8" out in a different direction on the other side. so I have to deal with that first. darn.
